President's Cup
The President's Cup may be awarded to a chapter that has demonstrated overall excellence in the areas evaluated. The President’s Cup is the highest award a chapter can receive from the Greek Community at Central Michigan University.
Additional awards given to outstanding chapters include:
Most Improved Chapter
May be awarded to a chapter that has demonstrated considerable improvement in the areas evaluated. The Most Improved Chapter is awarded to the sorority and fraternity that have displayed efforts of improvement since last year.
Outstanding Scholastic Programming
May be awarded to a chapter that has demonstrated an active role in the improvement of the scholastic achievement of its members. The chapter must have initiated and improved programs to continue on with the high dedication of academics within CMU’s Greek Community.
Outstanding Risk Management
May be awarded to a chapter that has excelled incorporation of Risk Management programming into their chapter events. Any chapter that has been sanctioned for risk management type violations since Fall 2004 is not eligible to receive this award.
Outstanding Diversity Award
May be awarded to a chapter that demonstrates active participation in diversity programs and excellence in leadership toward an awareness and conscious understanding of CMU and community issues pertaining to diversity and multiculturalism.
Outstanding Philanthropy
May be awarded to a chapter that demonstrates outstanding participation in and devotion to helping others through service and philanthropic projects. These projects may include volunteering, raising money for a cause, etc.
Outstanding Leadership
May be awarded to a chapter whose chapter members are actively involved in other non-Greek activities such as membership in an RSO, leadership facilitators, and campus ambassadors (work and intramurals do not count). Chapter members attend Greek leadership programs such as MGCA, UIFI, NIC programs, and programs implemented by chapter headquarters. Chapter members attend CMU training and development programs such as Leadershape, Connections, Alpha, and Leadership Safari.
Outstanding Alumni Relations
May be awarded to a chapter that demonstrates a tremendous effort to reach out to the alumni members of their chapter through publications, events, and activities. These events may include Homecoming activities, banquets, and other events that are specifically held and planned for alumni of your chapter.
Outstanding Greek Relations
May be awarded to a chapter that has made a conscious effort to interact with other Greek chapters on our campus-excluding social events- and maintains a positive relationship with those chapters. These chapters may be members of IFC, Panhel, or NPHC. These activities may include a joint philanthropic event, dinner together, etc.
Outstanding Community Relations & Service
May be awarded to a chapter that has developed a positive relationship with the Mt. Pleasant community (outside of Greek or campus life), which has not only promoted the image of your chapter but also Greek Life. These are not the philanthropy or service vents that you did.
Outstanding Campus Relations & Involvement
May be awarded to a chapter that has made a conscious effort to include members of campus (students/faculty that are not Greek) in service events, philanthropies, and other activities to promote a positive image of Greek Life and the campus.
Outstanding New Member Education
May be awarded to a chapter that educates and provides effective training and programs for their new members so that they may become successful lifelong members.
Outstanding Membership Education
May be awarded to a chapter that educates their members on a variety of topics in order to make them well-rounded members. Education can be obtained in several ways: experience, reading, hands-on, listening, etc.
Outstanding Sisterhood/Brotherhood
May be awarded to a chapter that has fostered a relationship between chapter members. Chapters need to demonstrate what they have done in order to help its members foster friendships within the chapter.
