GAMMA & Risk Management
GAMMA stands for Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol. Meetings for GAMMA are held every Wednesday at 9pm in Anspach 162. All risk management chairs need to be there to properly represent their position and chapter! If you can't make it-please send a proxy in your place.
The letters FIPG are well known through many Greek Communities, including CMU's. FIPG, which stands for Fraternal Information and Programming Group is a resource for many Greek organizations is relation to risk management education. There are currently 47 Greek-letter men's and women's fraternities that are FIPG members and who have based their risk management policies on the FIPG policy.
FIPG's Mission Statement:
"To promote sound risk management policies and practices. To be the leading source of risk management education, programming,and information to the broad based constituency involved in all aspects of Greek life."
Risk Management Facts:
1. 60% of students on college campuses today are non-smokers, reporting never smoking cigarettes.
2. Any type of addiction is responsible for more than 400,000 deaths in the United States each year.

5. The average American woman is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 140lbs.
6. The average American model in 5'11 and weighs 117.
7. Most models are thinner than 98% of American women.
8. Years spent in prison for possession of GHB: 2 years.
9. The craving an alcoholic feels for alcohol is as strong as the craving for food and water.
10. Fifty-three percent of Americans reported that one or more of their close relatives has a drinking problem.
