STUDENT BUDGET ALLOCATION COMMITTEE (SBAC) JOB DESCRIPTION
 

 
Committee Job Description

The Student Budget Allocations Committee (SBAC) is looking for dedicated individuals to serve on the committee for the academic year. The SBAC is a body of appointed individuals who assist the Office of Student Life in the appropriate distribution of student levy funding to support the goals and expectations of a diverse student population. The aim of the SBAC is to impact campus by allocating moneys to student organizations through thoughtful discussion and inquiry. While spots on the committee are limited, the campus impact that can occur as a result of a student’s involvement on SBAC is boundless.
 
Responsibilities and expectations of SBAC members:

  • Attend the SBAC meeting from 5:00 -6:30 PM each Thursday.
    Maintain at least 1-2 office hours in the Student Organization Center each week.

  • Assist the co-chairs and advisor with Registered Student Organization (RSO) training and communication initiatives with advisors and groups while implementing the SBAC guidelines for funding.

  • Offer services to designated RSO’s and their advisors on budget planning and fund management.

  • Other duties as determined by the Student Budget Allocations Committee (SBAC). 
     

Students on the SBAC value campus impact, celebrate diversity, honor CMU traditions, and appreciate the needs of new student organization. Those students with a commitment to ethical leadership and a passion for programming should apply.
